The Faith Formation program at St. Anne Parish is designed to assist parents in forming their children in the Catholic faith.
The program caters to students in grades pre-K through high school. The Sacraments of Penance and First Communion are typically received in grade two, and the Sacrament of Confirmation in grade ten or eleven; however, special accommodations are available for students of all ages who desire to receive their sacraments. All students preparing for their sacraments should be preparing their hearts, minds, and souls for these sacraments by attending weekly Mass, and biweekly faith formation classes. Sunday Mass attendance is of the utmost importance, and we encourage the parents to bring their children to weekly Mass, as Jesus himself declares in the Gospel of Matthew, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." We recognize how busy families are, but we cannot overstate the crucial imperative for our St. Anne children to attend Mass.
Lastly, we seek volunteers from Confirmation age and beyond to help assist in our St. Anne Faith formation classrooms. Please contact the office if you have some time to help catechizing our children. Teaching and assisting others in teaching the faith is a wonderful way to practice valuable Spiritual Works of Mercy. Volunteer catechists and assistants are always welcome to participate; all you need is a love of Jesus. Training and materials are provided.
